But... I just want to play! Why won't you wake up so we can play together!

Zoe + Pierre
Will we make it to the top... dun dun dunnnnn
Okay, I give up spending any more time trying to convert this thing into another file format for now. I've tried at least a dozen codecs and combinations and it always loses the audio, so here's a linked video from the road for ya. (It's a 3g2 file from Chris's Treo... opens for me in QuickTime, may need to right-click and save link as)
Oh and we did some calculations... $703 in gas, averaging 10 mpg :O
Photoshoot whoopsie (nsfw)
It mooooves!
I don't know why the video ended up choppy, but this was the wildest thing.. I've never seen library stacks that move before. You hit the button on the one you want and they gradually all shift to open up. It's got this awesomely organic feel to it.
Tower of Babel & wireless standards
Ahh, the first of the lasts. This is the last time I'll be sitting in my Monday class. I couldn't graduate without capturing a clip of Prof. Hudyma, one of my favourite professors, off on one of his famous tangents but relating it to wireless and mobile technologies.
(I hope the audio isn't too faint, but I'm still *in* the class so I can't listen to it)
Ahh the signs of spring
The sun is out, birds are chirping, snow is melting, flowers are blooming... girls are wearing skirts that show their entire ass when the wind blows (which I JUST MISSED in this clip, damnit).
So, how was MTV?
Why thanks for asking! It was pretty fun :) Behind the scenes is always fascinating. The video clip is a quick pan just after I was on.
It was a lot... fluffier than I expected. Call me naive, but I was expecting a real discussion on geekdom, not a "hey, here are a couple of cool people, so you're a geek, okay bye!" Everyone was sweet as all hell though, and I got to hang out with Amber Mac! Leo Laporte was actually supposed to pick her up, and I was going to meet him, but that didn't work out. Oh well, another time. We're definitely going to keep in touch about me popping on commandN sometime in the near future.
So yeah, fun. I was totally chatting on IRC on my PDA on live TV after our bit :D
I'll get a copy of the show but I'm not sure how much of it I can post publicly. I'll keep ya posted.
So, thanks MTV for a truly interesting experience :)
ITM800 marathon
A highly productive all day/evening work session... *cough*
Pre-show press craziness
Note to self: securing a spot right next to all the press photographers is a gooooood idea. We also caught Lauren Bacall, Michael Eisner, Patrick Wilson, and other Broadway figures arriving, and bumped into John Lithgow :)
Here are Andrew Lloyd Webber and Michael Crawford (the original Phantom in London and later Broadway) making their grand entrance.
Still gathering media from various sources and writing up the evening...
Oh yeah and I'm home from New York, sadly! I love that city. It would only be better if it was in Canada.
