I'm new!
I just found out I got the lead part (Eva) in the Pembroke/Petawawa/Deep River and area production of Evita!
I'm so much more than ecstatic :D

According to their website, it's July 27 to Aug 4th. How was the audition? What did they say?? Details!
We're thinking about spending a good deal of time at the cottage with the boys this summer, most likely in the early summer (late June-late July) so I will try to make sure we're still there then so it's an easy drive up to see you!
In other news, I think I've convinced my dad to get an internet connection up there... make sure you mention how awesome that would be next time you talk to him, k? :)
Heheheh, yeah, I suppose I could have actually read the website... I'm a dork. :P
They said it was the best set of auditions they'd ever had. They said that usually when they've cast, there have been compromises in the roles, but this time they didn't have to make any. They also said that they hadn't disagreed on a single cast member, which was apparently also a first. Then they announced the names to the whole group of call-backs.
I would have loved to have seen my face when they announced it. I was so shocked I nearly stopped breathing. Then the joy came about 10 seconds later. I think I squealed, I'm not sure. I'm still in a bit of a daze.
The new cast went out for a celebratory beer after, to get to know each other. All three production heads said they were more excited about this production than they had been about Jesus Christ Superstar, which they did either 2 or 4 years ago, I don't really know. And that production was apparently phenominal.
I was really impressed by the talent we've got in the area, I wasn't expecting it to be honest. I think this production is actually going to be better than amateur/community theatre and more like semi-pro.
So I'm pumped!
That would be great if you guys could come for one of the performances in July. I'll make sure to get you good seats :) Cast always gets first crack at them.
Now, off to get my tires changed.
