More linux stuff

I'm plunging head-long into this linux thing, and I'm looking for some opinions on programs to replace what I'm using in my Windows environment. Below is a list of the applications on which I'm soliciting opinions. Inside the parenthesis is what I'm using in Windows, inside the slashes are comments on importance, or any linux aps I've already tried. If you suggest an application *PLEASE* explain why you are suggesting it. I'm one of those weird people who actually choose applications based on their functionality rather than their popularity. FTP (FileZilla) IM (Trillian Pro 3) // I installed GAIM to test it out and hate it. It's like trading in my Tiburon for a tricycle. I'll be getting Trillian Astra when it comes out, but since there's no projected release date, I'm looking for a stop-gap measure in the even that I switch completely to linux before Astra comes out.// WebCam (ConquerCam) Comic Book Viewer (CDisplay) // VERY important. :) // PDA (Palm Desktop) // Does Palm port to linux at all? // ZIP (7-Zip) PDF (Acrobat full-version) Any other suggestions?

What format are your comic

What format are your comic books in? If they're standard image files, you could probably use kuickshow (my choice for viewing a series of high-detail images, as it's simple enough to use)

I have a friend who uses a palm with ubuntu. I'll have to ask him what he uses for it.

They're in .cbz (renamed

They're in .cbz (renamed .zip) and .cbr (renamed .rar) formats. The images inside of them are .jpg

CDisplay is specifically designed to display comic books this way, showing them--for example--as a 2-page layout on the screen, and advancing a page by hitting the space bar.
