Hi Guys, whoever it is that reads my Livejournal.

I'll be xposting this to other places as well in order to gain the maximum amount of opinionage posssible :P

As a good number of you know, some months ago, while on a walk with my girlfriend, I tripped over my shoelace and fell to one knee and found a diamond ring lying on the ground---and held it up to examine it just as ambrosia, who had noticed that I fell behind (pun intended) turned around.

Not one to disappoint her, I realized that I had to propose and so quite unexpectedly found myself engaged to be married.

My question to you guys is this: In five months, on the 28th of April, the big day will be upon me, and it is the period of time immediately following that date that I'm concerned about.

As it will be the beginning of May, I was wondering: what is a good place to honeymoon in at that time of year?

I'm willing to drive around 10 hours in any direction outward from Toronto, though I'd far prefer to stay in Canada. I was thinking we could go to Quebec City, if that gives you an indication of the outer limits of how far I'd like to travel.

My idea was Quebec City for a few days, and then Montreal for another few days, which will be convenient for me as I'll be exhausted after my vacation and will not be looking forward to a 10 hour drive back to Toronto, so I'll do a bit of it a few days into the vacation that will require a vacation to recover from.

Anyway, that's certainly not written in stone, it's just to give you an idea of how it might go.

What's a good place to honeymoon in the first week of May?

Well, I'm not a travel expert.

But if you're willing to come into the US, I think that't right around the time of the Cherry Festival in Traverse City. Other ideas include Niagra Falls, Sarnia, or you could just spin aound in circles and whichever way you fall down is the direction you drive.

cherry fest in july

Traverse City, Michigan Cherry Festival is generally in early July, so it doesn't really fit with the late April timeframe.

Good luck on the honeymoon plans, and even more luck on the wedding, marriage and life ahead with Ambrosia!

I thought it ran May-June.

I thought it ran May-June. Meh, shows how long it's been since I've been there.

Well, there's not much in May. I suggest just driving west for 5 hours, then turning around and going back.
