Mention a band, or hear a song, or read lyrics and often you can tell which decade it came from.

I will post some bits of lyrics. Then tell us who the artist(s) is and what decade it came from. Then post your own.

No Google cheats :x :)

"This is the end, My only friend, the end"

"Go, go, go Johnny go, go, go Johnny, go go
Go Johnny go, go, go Johnny go go
Johnny B. Good"

"A-toot, a-toot, a-toot-diddelyada-toot
He blows it eight-to-the-bar, in boogie rhythm"

"There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
And you know sometimes words have two meanings
In the tree by the brook there's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven"

"Call me (call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me) my love
When you're ready we can share the wine
Call me
"

"Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand
Just like that river twists across a dusty land
"

"Let him soothe your soul, just take his hand
Some people call him an evil man
Let him introduce himself real good
He's the only one they call "Feelgood"
"

oohhh

ok

"I've been looking so long at these pictures of you
that I almost believed that they lived"

"I guess this is our last goodbye
You don't care, so I won't cry
You'll be sorry when I'd dead
'Cause all this guilt will be on your head"

"Ever since I was a young boy
I've played the silver ball
From Soho down to Brighton
I must have played them all "

"I'm not the only soul who's accused of hit and run
Tire tracks all across your back
I can, I can see you had your fun"

I kept it easy :p

Some people are like slinkies: Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Crosstown Traffic, no?

A - "She said 'Even the swap meets around here are pretty corrupt'."

B - "She's the cheese, and I'm the macaroni"

C - "You told me again you preferred handsome men
but for me you would make an exception."

D - "Well, I grew up quick and I grew up mean,
My fist got hard and my wits got keen,
I'd roam from town to town to hide my shame."
