She has such a smooth melody.
Who puts you in...the mood?
I'm also a huge fan of Christopher O'Riley's True Love Waits. He redid a bunch of radiohead songs via the piano. SOOOO Sexy.
"Because he's a character who's looking for his own identity, [He-Man is] an interesting role for an actor."
--Dolph Lundgren, "actor"
Not to be OT, but I just found out today that Dolph Lundgren is a chemical engineering major and was offered a Fulbright Scholarship to MIT. Maybe your quote was making some kind of ironic point, but we can safely assume that he did a metaphoric deconstruction of He-Man before he starred in that role ;-)

I'm sorry, but you're confusing book smarts with insight. The two have nothing to do with one another. I don't care what Dolph's IQ is... his acting is shallow and sucks rocks.
:)
(1 degree and 20 years experience in theatre gives me the right to say that)

At least he can say he did his homework before taking on the role. Pity his acting doesn't measure up to his book smarts... :)

He watched cartoons and played out the scenes with his old He-man dolls (sorry "action figures") first?

You're right. Having WATCHED that damn he-man movie gives me the right to say that. And the peace keeper. And universal soldier. I would say "Johnny Mnemonic" as well, but to be honest a) I kinda enjoyed that movie, and b) I didnt realise that dolph was in it till I checked his IMDB page. But even so, by my reckoning thats 303 minutes of my life that Mr Lundgren owes me. Crap, that means I have spent about 5 hours of my life watching dolph lundgren films...
Anyway, to get back on topic, there arent any bands that put me in "the mood". There are songs that remind me of various ex-girlfriends, but there aren't any songs that I hear and automatically think "Hey, baby....". Thinking about it, thats actually a little odd, because I have music for every other mood... (for example if I'm in a good mood, and going somewhere its the mighty mighty bosstones, if I'm in an angry place its Therapy? and so on).
I suppose I can add a couple more songs---I find that it's not really the band sometimes, so much as the song.
For instance, a couple Shakira songs do it to me---but it's hard not to get aroused when hearing that song brings to mind images of one's awesomely sexy girlfriend belly-dancing to the music...
Also, I can't really get over Black Velvet by Alannah Myles, either. We can all blame steph for that one.

Music does not put me in the mood. And, neither do musicians, too inaccessible, there is no rationality behind being put in the mood by someone with whom you have no chance of fornicating.
But, Vindicator one-hundred and forty-six, why are you a paying member of this site, then?
I knew the question was coming, so I asked for whoever it may have come from, and the answer is that I find Steph interesting, in no way, does she, or her videos, turn me on. (No offense, Steph) But, in terms of non-traditional sexual practices, I use this site as a reference and learning tool.
Getting back to the original question:
Almost any of the queens of jazz. I'm talking about *real* jazz, here--none of this "mellow, fusion, kenny g" crap.
Peggy Lee singing "Fever"
Ella Fitzgerald singing "Summertime"
Billie Holiday or Lena Horne singing *anything*.
Those are voices that soak into your very soul. They may be slow and smooth, but they are anything but "mellow". Listening to those voices raises your pulse, deepens your breath, and makes your body come alive.
