As I said the words, "Yes dear, a geek test. Blaze just took it, and I'm pretty sure I'll smoke him on this" I get the results:

42.01183% - Major Geek

And I really had some geeky answers. I think I can honestly say I don't want to meet anyone who scores in the 70s. Yeesh.

30.38%... maybe because I prefer Plato to Star Trek?
However is almost fair, for a slide rule user

It is called the "Zocchihedron": there are some sites still selling it.
BTW, here there is a 1-side die, just for who is curious...

Wow, I totally thought I was gonna score higher than that. I'm strangely slightly disappointed.

Spaz:

I had a programable calculator back when they cost $350
I don't just own RPGs, I know the *authors*
I am a published RPG author

And I emphatically did *not* answer 'yes' to any of the questions about show tunes--even though I probably know 75% of the songs to the classic musicals. :)

I should get bonus points for having programmed NPC-generator programs in BASIC at science camp... and playing the old Star Trek game on a DEC-Writer while waiting for the pages to print out. :D

I could have owned one. But I find them to be thoruoghly unsatisfactory in a number of ways. Primary among those is that they're hard to read, they roll for ever (usually off the table, requiring a re-roll), and they don't have the tactile and auditory satisfaction that percentile dice do when you're shaking them in your hand.

:)

I get a lot of points for being a girl, and being bisexual kinda helps for a grouping of questions too. But I lose out on most of the gaming-related ones. Although I did play Warhammer for a while (but mostly to make scenery and paint figures) and have played Magic and RPGs.

So did I... I had a huge dwarven army all handpainted and had made some scenery things. I only played like 3 game with them, but had a great time painting them.

Guest book is full. It couldn't give me my stats. But the last time I did this, I got something in the low 60s.

What? I'm a Star Trek Watcher, Star Wars watcher, Python fan, gamer (Table top & Video), techie, computer weirdo, and, well, I AM technology.

hrm. some of these are fairly geeky. Although I am a little surprised there aren't any questions pertaining to MUD/MUSH

quickly thought of some additions... :

[] Know how to crimp a working cat5 ethernet cable.
[] ...and have all of your cables in your home network handmade by you
[] ...and a crossover cable
[] ...and enjoy doing it.

[] Memorized internet memes, but have no clue about any of the latest tv shows.

[] Play Nethack
[] ...regularly
[] ...ascended
[] ...with more than one char

Can't say I know cat5, but I used to have a very good working knowledge of RS-232 null-modem cables (2-3, 3-2, 7-7, 6+8-20 to fake out the control signals - that's for a DB-25 to DB-25. For DB-25 to DB-9, it's 2-2, 3-3, 7-5, 20-6+1, 4-6+8).

I would have added a few myself.

[] Have played Dungeons and Dragons
[] ..for more than three years
[] ..continuously for that entire time
[] ..have gone out of your way to play continuously.
[] ..with several characters.

[] Have played BattleTech
[] Know more BattleMech names than names of people
[] Own more minis than you have friends.
[] Have spent more money on miniatures than you have on dates.

There weren't a heck of a lot of questions in there pertaining to science or music geek stats, but believe you me, my score would go up if there were!

Kids are always amazed when I show them how to do plain additions and subtractions using a couple of drawing rules instead of a calculator: wow, no batteries! :o

BTW, the most useful I have (and I use it daily) it's a "metric conversion rule" to convert kgs to lbs, meters to ft and so on.

Daaaaamn, I didn't think I was that geeky. I always felt so geekily insuperior to you all....hehehe, guess not! And stephs right, being female and bi really helps to up your score. :) I'd hate to have seen my score if there were more music geeky questions in there.

I can attribute not getting a higher score to a few things:

- I don't roleplay or play much in the way of games
- I don't watch (or even own a) TV
- I don't own much -- ie I don't collect anything other than a small collection of books and CDs.
- None of the 'I want to be..' options was 'sitting on a beach in a hammock with a naked girl and sipping fruity drinks out of a pineapple (or coconut) with a little umbrella in it.' *shrug*

Consider me a GeekMonk (with a side of horny beach-bum)
